First, who is Mr. Sogo?
He was an active player for Nippon Life Insurance, a prestigious company in amateur baseball.
He was also selected for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, where he represented Japan as a regular shortstop.
After retiring, he coached Nippon Life Insurance, leading them to victory in the Intercity Baseball Tournament and the Japan National Championship in 2015.

Actually, there are two types of Sogo models!
Ip 1050-15
Ip 1050-18
Originally, there was the Ip.1050-15, but based on Mr. Sogo's opinion that "modern infielders prefer larger gloves," the size was increased to create the Ip.1050-18!
This glove faithfully reproduces Mr. Sogo's fielding theory and感覚, which states that "you shouldn't turn your palm too much towards the ball; an angle that allows your gloved hand to hang naturally is fine."
So, you can catch the ball even from this at-attention position without turning your glove face too much forward!
With a regular glove, if you try to catch a ball with your hand naturally hanging down, the ball would likely hit the side of your thumb, making it difficult to catch cleanly.
However, to prevent this, the Sogo model has the left side of the glove slightly raised.
This allows you to use your thumb as an axis and manipulate the glove with your other four fingers.
