Hello! I'm Sato, a staff member at Syuspo.
In this blog, the baseball-loving staff of Syuspo will bring you information about baseball.
Look what we have here! Special custom-made gloves from SSK have arrived! ! ! !
These are our Syuspo originals (・∀・)ニヤニヤ
For this Xiamen order, we have received a total of 5 gloves: 1 for pitchers, 3 for infielders, and 1 for outfielders!
I'll explain later which model number was chosen for each.
First, many of you must be wondering, "What is Xiamen?"
Before that, do you know how to read it?
The correct reading is Amoi!
SSK has a glove factory in this region of China called Xiamen, and this series was made there!
It seems that many professional players who use SSK gloves also have them made in Xiamen!
It allows for specifications that are not possible with regular orders, and detailed requests can be accommodated!
Also, the price of 66,000 yen (tax included) for a custom-made glove is astonishing (*_*;
It definitely offers value and quality beyond its price!
Looking at the Amoi custom orders brought in for maintenance, I can't help but be impressed by how well they've "aged" (・∀・)ニヤニヤ
The firmness and lightness of the leather are outstanding!!
So...
Let's introduce each glove (・∀・)ニヤニヤ
First, the pitcher's glove!
【SSK】 proedge Hardball Glove, Pitcher's Model, 714
This popular model is used by many players, including Shosei Togo of the Yomiuri Giants and Yuki Nishi of the Hanshin Tigers.
The pocket can be formed from under the web towards the index finger.
It's a versatile model that suits players who want to grip the ball firmly and throw, as well as those who prefer the "web-not-bent" style that's popular these days.
The size is neither particularly small nor large, so I think it can be used by a wide range of ages, from junior high school students to adults.
The color chosen is reddish brown, which is gradually gaining popularity right now!!
The "SMS web" that isn't found on mass-produced items, yet uses the same web as Togo's, is also cool (・∀・)ニヤニヤ
For the infielder's glove, we've used two types!
The first is this glove that uses the 844 model!
【SSK】 proedge Hardball Glove, Infielder's Model, 844
This is the model number used by Ryoichi Adachi, formerly of the Orix Buffaloes.
The pocket is formed from under the web towards the index finger, so it's recommended for players who want to use it shallowly or catch with a "slap catch" style.
When it comes to SSK infielder's gloves, it has to be the 844 model, right?!?!
That's how much the 844 model sells at Syuspo.
The 844 model is truly a versatile infielder's glove!
The size is also just right, making it recommended for players who mainly cover second and shortstop!
Black x pink is stylish, too, isn't it? (・∀・)ニヤニヤ
Now, the other infielder's glove is the 761 model!
【SSK】 proedge Hardball Glove, Infielder's Model, 761
This is the model for Masaya Yano of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp, who won a Golden Glove Award.
The fingers are slightly longer, and it's generally a larger glove. It has a finger divider and the index finger stands up firmly, so it can be used by gripping with the pinky finger, making it easier to catch in areas other than the pocket.
The 761 model was added to the lineup this year.
It's already becoming a staple of SSK's infielder gloves!
Personally, I think...
It's also good to use with the pinky finger out!
I think!
Basically, it's a box-shaped glove (closes from thumb to pinky), so I think you'll feel its benefits even more if you use it with the pinky finger out!
The finger divider is also a good feature!
A large infielder's glove gives a sense of security, doesn't it? (・∀・)ニヤニヤ
You'll find yourself saying, "Oh! It caught on the tip!" more often♪
And now, the outfielder's glove that Sato has been waiting for!!
【SSK】 proedge Hardball Glove, Outfielder's Model, 876
This is the model used by Shunta Goto, who plays for the Chunichi Dragons.
The pocket is deeply formed from under the web towards the index finger, providing a wide catching surface.
Also, at 30cm vertically, it's smaller for an outfielder's glove, making handling and running excellent.
We chose the 876 model, which is not available in mass-produced items!
By choosing this web, we made it a "twist type" that catches with a twist.
At Syuspo, we affectionately call this "twist type" the "Sato type" (lol).
It's really easy to use, and it significantly speeds up changing your grip!!!
It's a versatile model that can be used with one pinky finger or with the pinky finger out (・∀・)ニヤニヤ
Since it's smaller, it's also recommended for players who also play third base!
~Summary~
Amoi's Syuspo Originals are a popular series that sells out quickly.
They are perfect gloves not only for those who want to stand out or prefer something flashy,
but also for players who are particular about their leather!
Definitely try SSK's Amoi gloves!!!!
