Wilson day!! 中田さんご来店!!!

Wilson Day!! Mr. Nakata is here!!!

Hello! I'm Sato, a staff member at ShoeSpo.

In this blog, the baseball-loving ShoeSpo staff will bring you information about baseball.

On October 12th and 13th, we held "Wilson Day" with Mr. Nakata from Wilson!

For the event, we had sample gloves of various models, trial wooden bats for hardball, and a display of pro players' actual gloves, which were very popular last year. We were able to do things that are usually not possible.

Speaking of players who use Wilson!
Norichika Aoki, who played for Yakult, and Shuta Tonosaki of the Seibu Lions!!

Of course, both of them use the "Koyuni" style (・∀・)hehe
The merits of Wilson's Koyuni style have been featured in past ShoeSpo blogs, so I'd be happy if you check those out too.

And so, the event was incredibly lively!!!

Some people who regularly use Wilson brought their gloves, wanting Mr. Nakata to see them, while others just came to meet Mr. Nakata (lol).

I think the main point of the event was being able to talk a lot about Wilson gloves with Gota Nakata, the head of Wilson Baseball!

Why Wilson is good,
Why Koyuni is good even for infielders,
Mr. Nakata, who knows everything about Wilson gloves, was bombarded with questions from children to adults! (lol)
Mr. Nakata meticulously and convincingly explained each question, making everyone's eyes sparkle ☆ミ

Baseball fanatics had deeper, more specialized conversations, and within those conversations, topics like "This is how Tonosaki uses it" and "He's very particular about this part" were flying around—insights that only Mr. Nakata, who handles pro players' gloves, could share.

He also gave precise advice on the characteristics of each model and "If you want to use it with this image, this glove is good."
When they tried catching and fielding ground balls right after, everyone found them incredibly easy to catch, and many new Wilson users were born over the two days!!
There were many third-year junior high school students in particular, and I hope they'll put these to good use in high school baseball starting next year.

One junior high school student came to buy a glove from another manufacturer, but after trying on Tonosaki's glove and playing catch, plus hearing Mr. Nakata explain the benefits of Wilson and its dual structure,
he said, "I want to play high school baseball with this glove!" and ordered it right away!

The 1723 model, which he tried on and liked

Since Tonosaki used the "1723 model," we made it in the 1723 model.
The coloring was also super cool, so I can't wait for it to be finished (・∀・)hehe

Speaking of Wilson gloves…

There's a unique Wilson material called SuperSkin.

This is quite an excellent material, with these properties:
・Doesn't absorb moisture or dirt
・Half the weight of regular cowhide
・Twice the strength

It's like a magical material!!
It seems that NPB and MLB players who use Wilson also favor SuperSkin!

See!!!
It's clear at a glance, isn't it!!
This is what makes the glove feel even lighter (・∀・)hehe

A scene when a third-year junior high student experienced SuperSkin.
He gave a super good reaction (lol)
It really is that light to make such a reaction!!

~Summary~

Over two days, Wilson users were born across a wide range of ages, from elementary school students to junior high, high school, and general adults!
Wilson gloves are meticulously crafted in every aspect: usage, leather, and glove structure.
Once you experience them, it's bound to be good, isn't it?!!!!
There's no way you wouldn't get hooked 🤔
After understanding that feeling thoroughly, I reaffirmed my desire to explain and sell them.

Mr. Nakata taught me this time, but it seems that Wilson gloves are basically all the same, whether for "pros" or "general use"!
It seems there are minor differentiations (like using two colors for the lacing), but the leather, factories, and craftsmen used are the same (・∀・)hehe
"No, no! Isn't that the same for every manufacturer?" you might think, but in reality, it's not.
Don't you get excited thinking that you can buy Wilson gloves that even pro players are satisfied with?
When you think about it that way, Wilson gloves feel like a good deal (・∀・)hehe

Players who seriously want to improve their defense
Do you know Wilson's concept?

"Aim for a 100% fielding percentage."

Everything is encapsulated in this concept.

For serious players, it's Wilson.
