Pre-broken-in: Wilson Staff Dual Hardball Glove Infield, Model 1723, Fall/Winter 2024

The DUAL series, synonymous with Wilson gloves. This is a new 1723 model hardball infield glove, added in 2024. Based on the popular 87 model, the thumb and pinky fingers are slightly shortened. The wristband features an "Arch Fitter" design. This enhances the fit and improves handling.

DUAL refers to the structure where each finger has two lines (rawhide lacing). Simply put, the rawhide lacing acts like the "pillars of the glove." While regular gloves have one line, the DUAL series has two, making it resistant to the force of the ball upon catching. Additionally, the two-pinky finger insert allows for a firm grip on fast balls.

The leather used is Pro Stock Steerhide from North America. It has no癖 and fits any hand well, regardless of the user.

Manufacturer-recommended "Koyuni" (pinky-in) shaping, taught by Wilson's Mitsuhiko Nakamura, is also available (modeled after Sosuke Genda). The firmly upright thumb creates a pocket, making it easy to catch backhand. Moreover, the Koyuni style relieves unnecessary tension and improves handling.
